Joe opened Esente Hair Wimbledon in 2000 with a vision and passion to create a hairdressing salon providing a luxury experience with a friendly atmosphere offering a high standard of professional service.

Our journey began with our creative team in the salon, building a loyal clientele that was not just local but reached out to surrounding areas.  Gradually leading us forward to another passion of ours, working not only in a hair salon but creating photographic images for magazines, competitions and hair shows.

In 2004, we entered L’Oreal Colour Trophy, a prestigious hairdressing award held nationally for over 60 years. We not only won the London regional finals but we went through to the Grand Final at the Grosvenor House Hotel, our competition were 25 salon finalists from all over the UK.

In 2006 & 2016 we re-entered in both Loreal Colour Trophy Awards and Loreal Young Colourist Awards and we reached regional finals, another great achievement!

At Esente our philosophy is that we do not just offer hairdressing, we offer a complete experience from the moment our client walks into our friendly welcoming environment to the time they leave looking and feeling fabulous. So much so that we have won awards for our outstanding customer services:

2006 Kerastase Signature de Service Winners 2007 Kerastase Signature de Service Winners 2010 & 2012 Merton Business Awards best customer service commendation award. 2012 Merton Business Awards for Merton & Wimbledon Voted Favourite Business Finalist.

We have also introduced a wonderful Hair Spa Area, located at the rear of the salon as a quiet relaxing escape from the busy environment of the salon.

I had been given a pretty bad hair cut from my previous regular salon and decided to go somewhere else. I was so fortunate to have Darren cut my hair and he was able to achieve a miracle with what I had left. I now have a beautifully cut style which is easy to manage. Esente will now be the salon which I will be returning to. Thank you Darren.

I have to say that I have nothing but praises for Darren and the team. I have wanted to change my hair sty for more than 20 years but every time I went into a salon to discuss a style to suit my face shape, I would simply be told it’s up to you…whatever your want etc. and believe you me I have enquired at a few salons in my time.Finally I plucked up the courage after battling through some health issues to find another salon and during my research I came upon ESENTE HAIR. After reading their reviews I decided to pay them a visit and I couldn’t be more pleased with the whole service.Having had long dreary hair for what seems like forever, Darren talked through a style with me that would suit my face shape, type of hair, daily needs etc and maintenance requirements and although I wouldn’t have paid that much money in the past for a hair cut, it was definitely worth it and I’m so glad I did it!Not only did I get a head massage, on a reclining chair whilst having your hair washed but Darren talked me through each stage and he was clearly very knowledgeable in his profession. He gave me so many tips and I definitely left the salon a new woman! The only problem was that I had no where to go but my hair looked fabulous and I felt a million dollars.I would highly recommend the salon but more so to nervous individuals or those seeking a change to their style. I've been going to Esente for over 4 years now. I came in after a disastrous haircut from another salon. Rebecca was amazing. She put me at ease straight away, went through the options and I left feeling amazing by the time I left. I've remained a loyal and VERY happy customer ever since. My hair is very curly and Rebecca gets that it needs extra care, and she never disappoints. Nothing is to much trouble. From the fab apprentices who make you feel so relaxed when washing your hair and bringing you lots of lovely coffees, to the banter and chat I have with Rebecca and the other staff (Naima and Darren, who ware also amazing stylists). I really can't rate the salon high enough.
