I find all the staff to be friendly and helpful at Ken Picton's. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing and I feel comfortable there. I've never had a poor customer service experience and I have been going for some years now. Rhian has cut and coloured my hair for the last couple of years now. She is absolutely lovely, listens to what I want and nothing is too much trouble for her and does a great job with my hair-she is an absolute asset to the Salon. I am one very happy customer- thank you

It’s been about 9 years since I last came to Ken Picton as I had moved. Coming back the welcome and service was great. Rhian listened and I came a way with exactly what I wanted.

I’ve thought long and hard about sharing feedback this time. I’ve been a loyal customer for well over 20 years and had a fantastic experience with Amanda and Amber. But the reality is that the experience at the salon has changed massively over the past year and particularly over the last 3 visits. I feel increasingly that my loyalty and business isn’t recognised or appreciated. The front desk experience these days is brusque and unwelcoming to say the least - on the last 2 occasions both arriving and leaving I have been made to feel that I am taking up staff time and distracting them from something more important. I recently introduced a friend, as Amanda is such a brilliant colourist, but the experience she had with the reception team was poor on two phone calls and during her visit - I was embarrassed to have made the recommendation which was only rescued by the brilliant work of Amanda and Stef. Maybe it’s time to reconsider the customer experience, finally fix the broken chairs at backwash and retain loyal customers? I wonder if there will be a response to this feedback and will be very happy to discuss in further detail. Jane

Hayley quickly put me at my ease on my first visit, listened to my thoughts and took time to discuss options resulting in a great cut that i am very happy with. She was also full of great advice and discussed how to manage my new cut at home- will be returning. Ann

From the friendly greeting on reception to the welcome upstairs in the salon I was put at ease and felt very comfortable, I was seated waiting Rhian my stylist at a cutting station, on her arrival she asked what I wanted explaining the cutting process and what I wanted. What can I say fantastic the cut the shape has taken years off me ! Thank you so much for this brilliant experience.

Felt like I wasn't listened to during consultation at all, even after having shown a reference for the length I wanted and discussed that styling it would shorten the hair, so best keep it a little longer. The cut started in the back so I couldn't see just how short the length would be, even though I asked for a bob that was just above the shoulders. The style doesn't match the style of bob I showed her either. I received an apology and no charge, but must admit I was made to feel like I was in the wrong and that it was 'miscommunication' on my part, and not lack of attention to what I was actually asking for. I understand it must be awkward, and I've never complained about a hair cut before, even if it wasn't quite what I wanted, but this completely missed the brief. It's really knocked my confidence and I can't even hide it.

I had an appointment with Ffion. Very respectful of the fact that my medical issues made me anxious about my hair (cancer) as hair very fragile. Ffion was absolutely lovely and listened to me as regards styling. I feel that Ffion is a credit to the salon and I will re-book with her.

Having previously been a customer with Guy Christian for many years and followed a member of staff to Ken Picton, due to inconvenience of travelling a distance to Cardiff Bay I decided to try a salon in the city centre.. but.. had a really bad haircut there and returned to Ken Picton. My usual stylist was unavailable so booked in with Hayley. She knew exactly what to do with my hair and recovered the bad cut from the other salon. Hayley was fantastic, I had a great cut and came away a very happy customer!.. I now have two great stylists at Ken Picton that I can rely on (Hayley and Zoe) and based on my experience I have no doubt that all stylists at this salon would provide an equal service. I will no longer be looking for an alternative salon and have accepted that my inconvenience of travelling into Cardiff Bay is well worth it for a great cut and experience,
