I saw Sarah (Trichologist) as I had some issues with dandruff and redness on the scalp. Sarah was very knowledgeable and advised a treatment plan which made a difference straight away, I would highly recommend Sarah.

I went in to tidy / freshen a slightly uneven DIY haircut and Tamara was great -- she really listened to what I wanted, she shaped it up really nicely while keeping the length which was exactly what I wanted, and she gave me recommendations on how to style it with tools / products. Would go again if I lived in Edinburgh :)

Came to mcgills after a complete disaster job at another salon. Hollie is an absolute saving grace and did an amazing repair. I felt so well looked after the whole time and she continued to explain treatments and the different parts of the process as we went along, making me feel cared for as well understanding what she was doing. Both the entire experience and the end result were totally 5 stars. Thank you so much Hollie

I got my hair cut today and I was scared to come into a new hairdresser since I have curly hair but Ellie did a phenomenal job. She was very patient and attentive as to what i wanted and made sure that I was happy with the final cut adjusting anything as needed. Due to a change in hairdresser they booked me for a slot 15 minutes later than I was supposed to be, so they gave me a free hair treatment as compensation which I didn’t even expect as 15 minutes is not that long but it was a nice benefit. The service and staff are great. Highly recommend (especially for curly hair)!

Second time at the salon yesterday with Emma. I would definitely recommend her to anyone else with curly hair! She's really thorough in understanding what you're aiming for and how to look after your curls. It's definitely the most welcoming and comfortable hair salon I've been to!

Fantastic Salon! Everyone was so lovely, from the reception to the stylists. Emma was brilliant, knows what she’s doing, works beautifully with curly hair, and extremely thoughtful and kind! Highly recommend this place for hijabis, they’re super considerate and attentive when it comes to this. Definitely a place I’d come back to!

Have been coming to McGill’s for my hair for over a year now, always a lovely atmosphere and everyone is super welcoming. Yesterday I had Emma do my hair (colour, highlights and cut) for the first time and she was like a breathe of fresh air. I felt she listened and really understood what I was wanting to achieve. Came out of my appointment super pleased and excited for my next!

Superb hairdresser, perfect balayage! Great atmosphere. Everyone is friendly and they even offer you a free drink of your choice. I highly recommend it.

10/10 experience today, came as a balayage model through Aimee for Emma and Rachel. I gave them a ginger/copper bird nest and they transformed my hair, beyond belief. Everyone was so lovely and the girls really went above and beyond, I thoroughly appreciate what you did and will absolutely be back! Thankyou so much again girls❤️

Great salon where they care about customer. Since arriving until leaving I felt welcome, very friendly atmosphere. I come with some burnt curls and leave with a really nice bouncy and healthy hair. Thanks Rach, you did a great job!!

They're brilliant. I have curly hair so colouring and cutting requires a different skill. All the girls are curly cut trained I believe and Chloe is especially good at working with type 3-4 hair, she really understands the differences with curl pattern and has taught me a few things.

I had such a great experience with Megan from start to finish. The consultation was really thorough—she took the time to listen to what i didnt like and what I wanted, offered honest advice, and made suggestions that actually suited my hair type and lifestyle. I felt completely understood before we even started.

The colour turned out beautifully. It was exactly what I had in mind, with a really natural blend and great attention to detail. You can tell they genuinely care about getting it right rather than rushing the process.

The cut and blow dry was completed by Ellie who was just as impressive—clean, precise, and easy to manage at home, which is always a big plus.
