This was my 1st visit to the salon.
When I booked, I wasn’t asked about my preferred stylist level or informed of pricing differences. I was simply scheduled with Poppy. After a skin test and consultation, I confirmed I wanted an all-over colour to return to my natural shade and a chin-length bob with layers and slight graduation at the back.

At my appointment, Poppy restated my preferences and I showed reference images. However, the cut was uneven, with sections at the back not blended. Although she tried to correct it, the issue remained. Feeling uncomfortable with other clients and staff nearby, I felt pressured to say it was fine.

At home, I saw the cut was still wrong and returned. The manager, who I believe was Louise, kindly listened and made further adjustments, explaining the issues to Poppy. Clippers were used in an attempt to fix the shape, but the end result still left me unhappy. The cut is shorter than I requested—an inch or more above my chin—and not the style I wanted.

I also noticed some bleached areas weren’t fully covered with colour, raising concerns that the product wasn’t processed long enough.

At no point was I told Poppy’s level of experience or whether she was in training. Had I known, I might have chosen a more senior stylist. Given the £105 cost, I did not feel this reflected value for money.

While the salon was clean and the staff friendly, this first visit was disappointing and I will not be returning. I hope my feedback highlights the need for clearer communication about stylist levels, pricing, and ensuring clients feel supported in voicing concerns.

I had a fab cut and blow dry from Chelsea today! Love my hair and will definitely be back :)

Jess was fantastic. She gave me a lovely long bob haircut and then took the time to teach me how to create beach waves using both a curler and straightener which is very appreciated.

I paid £15 for a consultation on Tuesday 8th July. I attended the consultation and had a hair strand test and a skin test. I was told I would get a call on Wednesday 9th July to tell me the result of my strand test so I could book in for my colour. I sent an email on Thursday 10th July asking if they could call me. It is now Friday 11th July and I still haven\\\'t been contacted by Colour Bar. It was a complete waste of £15. I would like a full refund as I haven\\\'t received the service I paid for. I would not recommend Colour Bar.

I went to Jessi with a previous colour job which had left my hair looking dull and patchy. Jessi was incredible. From the moment I sat in her chair, she listened carefully to what I wanted and offered her expert advice with confidence. She completely transformed my hair! The colour is now vibrant, even, and exactly what I had hoped for. She worked her magic, and my hair looks healthier than ever. Jessi's skill and attention to detail are truly remarkable, and I can't recommend her highly enough. If you need a colour correction or just a fantastic hairdresser, Jessi is your person!

This is my second visit to the colour bar. The first time I had Hannah cutting my hair, the second time Chelsea. My first cut was from very long hair to a bob, the second was a shorter bob. Both cuts were excellent- first time in years of going to have my hair cut where I actually love my hair walking out the salon. Everyone was so friendly and my appointments were on time. 100% recommend The Colour Bar, Wirral.

Chelsea is an amazing hairdresser and always does my hair exactly how I like it and it always turns out so nice! She’s also such a lovely person and easy to chat to! Love coming to the colour bar! Thank you!

Lovely warm welcome and good consultation with Emma, in realtion to my hair and what style I was looking for. Emma gave great advice, and respected the choices I made. I absolutely love my cut and it was dried so well, that I didn't even need to straighten it afterwards. Would 100% go back again.

Chelsea is lovely, professional and good at her job. Always has a good suggestion as to what colour/style will suit you. Highly recommend her and this salon.

I have been hopping from salon to salon for years. I’ve never stuck to a salon because I’ve never felt comfortable and mostly felt judged or that I’m not the kind of client wanted there. After moving house I asked a friend if she could recommend somewhere and I’m so pleased she pointed me here. My first appointment…the whole experience was lovely I felt welcomed, the services where amazing and Louise was so friendly and easy to talk too she listened to what I was hoping to achieve. I left feeling so relaxed AND happy with my hair normally I feel deflated and a little anxious. I can’t wait to book back in. Never going anywhere else ❤️

The entire experience was amazing from start to finish, It was my first time at the salon & Louise did exactly what I asked for, she understood and suggested the best cut suitable while maintaining my length. Everyone at the salon was lovely and welcoming, I will most certainly be back and already recommended to friends!

Always love coming to the salon to get my hair done with Chelsea. She always listens to what I want and explains and offers advice for my hair. I’m always really happy with the results. My hair always looks so fresh and Chelsea is really lovely and chatty and makes you feel relaxed and comfortable. The salon is also lovely and welcoming with cute drinks and snacks to keep you going! Can’t recommend enough.

I LOVE coming into the salon, it’s so welcoming and relaxing. Jess is amazing, she gives wonderful advice and is good with tailoring what I want with what’s realistic for my dark brown hair. She also gives me advice about how to style my hair myself, which is so helpful as I’m such a novice. Cannot recommend her enough, and my hair has never looked better!

My daughter has wanted a hair cut in a real salon for a long time. She was treated like a princess and I loved that Chelsea consulted with her about how she wanted her hair but also with me as a parent. She was fantastic and her hair looks amazing. She left saying she felt like a real life pop star! Thank you so much for making her feel so special !

I was booked in for the summer blonding package today with Chelsea and the whole experience was incredible. She was able to get my hair so light with having quite dark hair to start I thought it would take multiple sessions. Made me feel very welcome and at ease throughout the whole appointment. I honestly couldn’t be happier with my hair and it’s given me a boost of confidence I didn’t know I had! Chelsea is amazing at what she does and such a lovely person, I will 100% be rebooking with her.

I always struggle to say what I mean when it comes to the hairdressers and getting the right look. Louise always has patience to chat about the vision that I can’t put into words. Amazing colour expert and Just a lovely person. Will always recommend ✨
